Introduction:
History fanatic, teller of tales and a bit of an actor, I love nothing better than showing you our wonderful city!
I’ve lived in London for 25 years and still find it a city of surprises. I’d be delighted to take you on a tour of its many wonderful sights, not just magnificent places like the Tower of London or Westminster Abbey but those hidden gems that are waiting to be discovered, like the alleyways of the ancient City, a secluded garden surrounded by high-rise buildings or a medieval church. Or why not explore one of London's world-class museums? I'm also a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Vintners, so why not learn more about London's medieval guilds? Wine optional!
If you’re after a day out, then let me take you on a tour of Georgian Bath, a city I know well; or a stroll around the delightful colleges of Oxford University. Wild about Windsor? Let's explore the castle and the delightful streets of the town. Closer to home, let's take the train to Hampton Court Palace or discover the delights of Strand-on-the-Green and Kew. And if you're a fan of rock music, let's show you some of those iconic sites.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Guy was a particularly good guide and I heard lots of lovely comments on his breadth of knowledge and how it was put across in an interesting and entertaining way – which is so important.
Heritage Touring
Just a quick note to say a big thank you from all our group today. I know everyone enjoyed it thoroughly – your tour was informative and very entertaining, with lots of great personal stuff thrown into the mix!
City of London Guides Students
Guy gave us a really fascinating tour and some members thought it the best visit they had been on.
Foreign & Commonwealth Association
Guy was so nice and knowledgeable. His commentary about England's history and the sites we visited was very informative and interesting. My kids actually thought he would make an excellent candidate for the next "Dr. Who"!

Archaeology | I studied Ancient History & Archaeology at Birmingham University and have never lost my fascination for the subject. I'd love to explain the mysteries of Stonehenge to you or take you on a tour of the British Museum |
History & Prehistory | I've never lost my love of the past and still remember all the dates of all the kings, queens and battles. It'd be a pleasure to tell you about Britain's history - and no dates necessary! |
Castles & Palaces | Britain has some of the finest castles and palaces ever built. Kids big and small love exploring these places and imagining what life was like centuries ago. Let me tell you their story, including all the gory bits. |
Music | If you're a fan of classic British rock music then we'll get along just fine. I can show you some of the most famous places connected with some of our finest rock acts, from the Beatles to The Who, including their homes, the clubs they played in and the studios they recorded in. |
London Areas in Depth | Explore the 2000 years of the City of London. Learn about its livery companies, the Romans, or the medieval City. Or if you want to explore a lesser-known part of London let me show you the delights of Strand-on-the-Green, Chiswick, Kew and Richmond. Or let's take a boat east to explore maritime Greenwich. I'm also a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Vintners and am one of its in-house guides. In addition I am the in-house guide at Mercers' Hall , the City's premier livery company. I can offer tours of both halls to Arts Societies, U3A Groups and other interested organisations. |
Walking Tours | Let's wander the back streets of the City of London and discover hidden alleyways, ancient churches, brand new architecture and a cosy pub. Or why don't we follow the Thames Path, north or south? |
Genealogy | I've been researching my family history for several years and you can view my genealogy on ancestry.com. I'd be delighted to help you trace your British family roots. |
